Cory Brubaker’s Experience

  • Freelance Account Planner

    SenseTruth LLC

    (Marketing and Advertising industry)

    2009Present (less than a year)

    What can you expect of us?

    You can expect us to find truths about your company and competitors. To find and help shape truths about brands. And, of course, to unearth those unruly truths about people and the social, cultural, and psychological influences on their behavior.

    We’re available for:

    * Brand & Communications Strategy
    * Category Immersion & Analysis
    * Qualitative & Secondary Research
    * Socio-cultural Explorations & Forces of Change

    It’s a pretty safe bet that you won’t like everything we tell you. If it makes you feel any better we won’t always like telling it. But making sense of the tangled mess of rational and irrational influences on your business (and consumer) can make you a stronger more respected brand. We like that a lot.

    Portland Advertising Federation

    (Marketing and Advertising industry)

    20082009 (1 year )

    PAF Celebrating 100 year of setting the standard for the Creative, Design, and Media Community!

    You'd think New York or San Francisco, not Portland, was this country's first club of that kind. In 1906, a group of business and professional leaders put their heads together to form an ad club, establishing Portland as a leader in the creative business community. 100 years, at least 76 presidents, and three name changes later, the Portland Advertising Federation, now known as the PAF, is one of the strongest ad clubs in the country.

    Coming into the 21st century, PAF is focusing on its program activity and benefits on explicit member disciplines. PAF programs run throughout the year and have been instrumental in bringing some of the most exciting and innovative thinkers in the business to our region. To name a few: John F. Kennedy, JR. Malcolm Gladwell, author of The Tipping Point Chris Riley, Head of Planning, Graphic Design Group, Apple Computer, Inc. Jameel Spence, President of New York-based Blue Flame Marketing & Advertising. Neal Stewart, Brand Manager of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Andrew Keller, CB+P, Group Creative Director on MINI. Kevin Carroll, brand evangelist and ESPN show host. John Butler, principal at Butler Shine Stern & Partners, author of Converse Brand Democracy. Joey Carson, CEO of reality television pioneers Buni-Murray Productions.

    PAF is member inclusive, including all disciplines in communication arts: advertising agencies, media partners (radio, TV, and print), interactive communication, and client-side marketing professionals. Each Executive Director and each Board of Directors makes their mark on the progress and future of PAF. Current Executive Director Jamie Sexton is working with the Board and Executive Committee on an aggressive marketing approach for PAF that includes re-branding, value-driven educational programs, new member development, and outreach to the member community.

    Wild Alchemy

    (Marketing and Advertising industry)

    20082008 (less than a year)

    Wild Alchemy is a collection of skilled independents
    who wish to remain unrestrained. Far from
    ordinary, these individuals have a wealth of
    experience and backgrounds they combine to
    solve our clients' problems in unique ways.

    Manifesto:
    It’s about momentum. The art of business and the business of art. Its about goose bumps and common threads and zigging when everyone else is trying to zag. It’s about finding your cultists and magnetic virtue and picking the low hanging fruit. It’s about focus and inspiration and simplicity. It’s about being both strategic and creative. It’s about creating a badge cultists are proud to wear. It’s about finding the areas of heat that evoke an inexplicably momentous reaction. It’s about knowing what sandbox you’re playing in and where to find gold. It’s about fame. Standing out in a crowd. Equity. Buzz. Ideas that sing. It’s about possibilities, not proof. It’s about getting everyone on that same proverbial page and inspiring them to play. It’s about great ideas. Ultimately, it’s about growth and creating something amazing.℠
