«Ми не хочемо ворожих відносин, бо це не було б в інтересах жодної iз сторiн. Ми хочемо балансу – так як Україна співпрацюватиме прозоро з Росією у різних питаннях – ми хочемо, щоби був баланс зi США та Заходом. Ми дуже стурбовані спроможнiстю Росії використовувати енергію як iнструмент, щоб у певних ситуаціях намагатись маніпулювати українською економікою i також її політичною системою. Багато з нас занепокоєні довгою рукою Газпрому не лише в Українi, але i в усiх інших колишніх радянських республіках. Водночас питання доступу до нафтопроводiв, шляхiв постачання та спроможність маніпулювати фундаментальним правом України розвивати свiй економічний потенціал слугує сигналом тривоги для нас усіх», - сказав Курт Велдон.
“We don’t want the hostile relationships, because any of the parties were not interested in it. We’d like the balance – because Ukraine would cooperate on the transparent basis on the number of issues with Russia - we want to see a balance with the USA and the West. We’re worried by the Russia’s ability to use the energy as an instrument to manipulate by the Ukrainian economy and its political system in some situations. Many of us are worried about a long hand of Gazprom not only in Ukraine but in all the other former soviet republics. At the same time the issues of the access to oil pipelines, ways of supply and ability to manipulate with the fundamental right of Ukraine to develop its economic potential is considered to be an alarm signal for all of us”, - said Curt Weldon.
