For five years, led the charge for economic growth through technology as President and CEO of TechBirmingham. During the full-time tenure, evangelized technology and launched signature events such as the annual TechBirmingham Ecycling Day, semi-annual TechMixers, and the Alabama-India TechVenture trade effort. Further, recognized by the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce with the honor of “Small Business Advocate of the Year” in 2007. In Atlanta, was a venture capitalist after playing pivotal roles in WebMD, the Atlanta 1996 Olympics, and a company that was sold to AOL. During the 1980’s and early 1990’s, was a facilities planner with IBM, a software trainer at Lockheed, and owned a computer-aided design services company. Received degrees in Urban Design and Architecture, and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
