Music industry doer
Brighton, United Kingdom
Curtis James has worked in the music industry for 15 years as an artist, musician, label and band manager, DJ, producer, sound designer, radio exec, more or less anything else you can think of.
Right now he's working on lots of new music industry stuff, eg. a startup that is trying to mend the music economy by helping artists get paid, managing the simonsound (a new electronic group and experiment in new ways of releasing music), and My Noisy Matchbox (a sound design consultancy to work with brands like Heineken, Orange and Turner).
Curtis likes everything that's changing about the music industry (freedom, democracy, inclusiveness).
If you're in Brighton or London or somewhere near, he's always free to talk over new projects about how the music industry ought to work.
Other things Curtis does:
Runs Likemind (a monthly coffee social) and Speakeasy (a group of people trying to get better at public speaking). Trains people in Getting Things Done, helping people to free their minds a little for the more creative and interesting things in life.
