Coder/Administrator: academic IT, covering writing, implementing, and supporting computer operating systems, mainly on mainframes and other large systems. Generally introducing newer IT technologies.
Key role in forming IT-security awareness, policy, and incident/response team in University (OxCERT) and achieving its association with international teams (eg FIRST).
Heavy involvement in forming and participating in national and international computer user groups.
Two years seconded to the University's Registrar leading Y2K project which (despite what was written internationally) was really a business-continuity audit, awareness exercise and being able to deal with all obfuscation and apply any fixes; also University's representative on others' advice panels and working-groups.
