Previous professional experience includes multifarious PR agency work in the fashion, interior design, hospitality and non-profit sectors specializing in new media and blogger outreach. In addition, Crosby spent 2 years managing the in-house public relations and marketing department for an online fashion jewelry and accessories company, where her skills in brand-building and online promotions regularly led to high-impact media placements in national fashion and lifestyle publications.
Crosby received a MA in Mass Communication and Media Studies from San Diego State University and a BA in Media Studies and Gender/Feminist Studies from Pitzer College. Her master’s thesis, “From Style to Strategy: An Exploratory Investigation of Public Relations Practice in the Fashion Industry” was the first academic study of its kind. Highlights from this work were presented at the 2009 Popular Culture Association Conference in New Orleans in April, 2009.
