I have been creating computer graphics for over 12 years and am the Large Format Print manager (HP5000/HP2500) for my laboratory at USDA producing over 100 posters a year that travel to scientific meetings world wide. I have recieved multiple awards for graphic design for posters developed for our 100th anniversary, as well as productions for our public field days. I also act as a graphics consultant for multiple other laboratories. I am responsible for the design and maintenance of all of the labs websites.
I hold a BS and MS in Horticultural research from UMD and have been a research support scientist with the Citrus Quarantine Unit for 16 years.
Outside of USDA I am the web master for the South County Concert Association, the Lothian Ruritans, and the Maryland Greenhouse Growers Association. I have designed and or tweaked the logos for these groups as well as for the Classic Winnebagos club. In my spare time I design and make pieces of stained glass in the copper foil method which are mostly donated to charity event auctions, some have sold for over $800. I also design and install home landscapes for friends and businesses in my area.
I would like to use my scientific background to do more web design and presentation graphics as well as training in large format print graphics.
