One Event Description:
On June 3, Circa hosted a skate/music event titled, Skate Jam 2000 (produced by Hologram Ent.). The event took place in San Bernardino's Orange Show facility and featured a quick and dirty street course along w/ hours of hip-hop and eclectic music. Featured artists included: Redman & Methodman, Tha Alkaholiks, Jurrassic5, RZA & Ghostface Killah (Wu-Tang Clan), Rahzel
Over 100 professional skateboarders turned out to perform on a custom built street course and compete for $10,000. Much of the action centered on an evil handrail nick named "The Cyclops" that had been summoned to challenge the riders' styles. To attempt to skate this thing you had to ollie off of a deck that was about fifteen feet off the ground, grind, slide or whatever down the equivalent of an eight stair handrail and land into a bank. The course was definitely not for the weak at heart.
