Responsible for all EDI related activities for Big 5 - from vendor contact and recommendations through trading partner set up and mapping/specification format and implementation. Expanded use of EDI systems (Inovis TrustedLink for i-Series) from approximately 40 trading partners to well over 500 trading partners - active and ongoing. Point of contact for all trading partners in regards to any EDI related questions and issues. Worked closely with buying department to "push" vendors to participate in EDI program and to complete training.
Also responsible for maintenance and changes to Island Pacific Merchandising System's "The Eye" reporting feature/module - both GUI and green screen. Creation of new views and assisting users in accessing reports and data in The Eye, as well as exporting to MS Excel formats for further review and use.
Additionally, worked for implementation of IP's "Trends" module for Dynamic Auto PO Replenishment, working with each buyer on creating formulas to run Auto PO procedure for 350+ store retail chain.
Started at the Help Desk, answering and solving user issues - both in house and at the store levels. Advanced to AS/400 System Lead Operator before moving on to the EDI Coordinator position.
EDI; creating maps/translation specs for 850, 856 and 810 documents; smoothing flow of inbound and outbound documents & data; working closely with suppliers/vendors/trading partners on any EDI related issues; simplify the EDI concept to be understood by many co-workers and peers with in the corporate structure. Often frequent telephone and e-mail contact with vendors throughout the day, as well as with other corporate employees regarding leather sets. Assisted in creating custom, multi-toned interior sets - to include color options, embroidery, etc. - to a wide customer base, including trim shops and auto dealerships across the United States.
