Let me tell you a little about me...
I'm an enterprise focused agile coach dedicated to providing large scale agile transformation services to help pragmatically, incrementally, and safely introduce Agile methods into any sized organization. As of late I spend most of my time doing sales and business development, running and growing our company, developing our team, and providing strategic coaching for our clients.
Before LeadingAgile, I was the Regional Vice President of Pillar Technology Southeast. We were building the Southeast region, and I was responsible for new client acquisition and engagement design. It was important to me to stay involved as a hands-on Agile Coach and Trainer for our larger, more complex agile initiatives.
I've also served as an Agile Coach and Trainer with VersionOne where we helped customers lead large-scale Agile transformations and adopt Agile Project Management best practices. Before joining VersionOne, I worked as a Senior Project Manager for CheckFree Corporation (now a part of Fiserv) where I cut my teeth on large scale agile program and portfolio management.
I'm a certified PMP Project Manager, a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, and a Certified ScrumMaster. I was on the steering committee that created the PMI-ACP certification and I co-lead the creation of the DSDM Agile Project Leader certification. I'm also an honorary member of the DSDM Consortium and a fellow of the Lean Systems Society.
I've served on the board of the APLN, the Lean Software and Systems Consortium, and the PMI Agile Community of Practice. I run the local Scrum user group in Atlanta and I blog with our team at http://www.leadingagile.com.
I'm passionate about solving the challenges associated with agile in larger, more complex enterprises. To that end, my company provides agile training, agile coaching, and agile transformation services designed to help pragmatically, incrementally, and safely introduce agile methods into your organization.
I blog at http://www.leadingagile.com and am a pretty regular speaker at many of the various Agile conferences. I'm excited about about sharing ideas around Agile Leadership and Project Management. Early next year I will publish a book on large scale agile transformations for Addison-Wesley Professional Publications.
I was responsible for new client acquisition and engagement design for Pillar Technology's Southeastern region. I stayed pretty hands on as an agile coach and trainer, but tend to focus on our larger and more complex transformation initiatives. My specialty was large programs in complex multi-methodology environments.
Pillar and I are still working together on engagements which require custom software development or certain kinds of hands-on technical coaching or training.
VersionOne is a leading provider of agile project management software for the agile community. They help companies simplify software delivery through lightweight agile tools that support agile development practices.
My role was to travel around the country helping teams learn how to use the VersionOne suite of applications. I helped companies better understand their organizational structures and how they can best implement the VersionOne software within their particular context.
Served as the President of a small private Christian school located in Suwanee, GA. We were a Georgia non-profit corporation committed to excellence in education, small class sizes, and teaching to the individual needs of our kids. Used a ton of Agile/Scrum running the school. It was a great experience, happy we did it, but very glad we decided not to do this anymore. It's complicated.
Senior level strategic project manager. Responsible for delivering high risk, high value projects for the online banking and bill payment industry. As an Agile coach and process mentor, responsible for helping teams create the collaborative environments necessary for delivering in the face of uncertainty. I worked with teams to tailor process to fit their culture and organizational needs.
