System Engineer at QBE Regional Insurance
Kansas City, Missouri Area
I am an innovative, resourceful, and hardworking IT professional with more than 10 years of demonstrated experience. I work well as a lead on projects and I am also at home as a member of a team. I enjoy creating innovative solutions to problems that require open thinking and am always up for a new challenge. Technology is also my hobby; I am a member of the local hackerspace and use technology as a catalyst to learn new and non-traditional ways to use computers, hardware and software.

My position at Aquila was a contract-to-hire position through TekSystems. I worked as a member of a two man team to bring their logistics center online. We consolidated all surplus hardware and software from 4 sites throughout the city into a central repository. We maintained corporate technology asset inventory and I assisted in development of the database and the front-end interface design. After 4 weeks I was hired into a full time position in the logistics center.

My work at Paradigm Digital Systems was rich with new experiences and challenges. Early in my career, the staff at PDS provided exposure to a variety of computer systems that ranged from simple to complex. The company was located in a small town environment and I was required to quickly adapt to a myriad of challenges. Literally everything: ranging from the farmer’s tractor PCMCIA slot being clogged with dirt, to building entire networks for schools and local businesses. I was an integral part of the web development team to provide front end design. Those early-career day to day challenges shaped my innovative approach to solutions involving a wide array of technical and people skills.
