  • Advisor

    BMS Group

(Privately Held; 201-500 employees; Insurance industry)

    February 2001January 2008 (7 years)

"Over several years Paul provided invaluable advice and practical assistance to BMS on many levels. He played a key role in helping us shape our knowledge management infrastructure, but just as importantly he helped transform the prevailing attitude to internal communication and collaboration. He was a trusted, impartial adviser to the senior management team, but was equally effective at other levels in the organisation. Several staff benefited from his individual coaching as they adapted to the challenge of new roles, and he carried out a number of surveys among staff which helped us fine tune the direction of important communication initiatives. Paul understands people businesses and can rapidly put his finger on the fault lines running through an organisation. However, his personal style rapidly engenders trust, and he has the ability draw out people’s real views, rather than what they think it is politically correct to say."

John Spencer, former CEO, BMS Group

    November 2004December 2007 (3 years 2 months)

"As President of Pyecombe Golf Club for 13 years, it has been my pleasure to work with and to observe the performance of Paul Corney, Chairman from 2004 to 2007. Paul took over his duties when our Club was struggling to maintain its position in Sussex golf His man management skills allowed him to achieve a close association with all the section leaders and staff and he worked extremely hard to make sure that his targets were reached. Our Club is now in a stable and healthy position and all the staff are achieving their targets. There is a very good atmosphere created, in my opinion, by the efforts and ability of our Chairman Paul. He steps down knowing he has been very successfull in his three years of achieving the targets and plans he designed and I know that the members of our Club are grateful for his efforts. Ken Barnard"
"You have done an excellent job and leave behind you a better club than you inherited." Brian Dury Chairman Reveiw (Audit) Committee
