Corey Leong is the Founder and Presidnet of the Remeta Association. He is a member of the Real Estate Educators Association and National Association of Real Estate Editors. He has given talks at Inman Connect, ARELLO, and Real Estate Metaverse Conferences. Remeta was the first real estate conference ever held in a virtual world, Second Life.
Corey first entered the real estate industry in 1999 as a licensed sales agent, then as a licensed real estate broker, and finally as a state licensed real estate instructor.
In 2008, Corey declared real estate is no longer local but global by publishing Leong's Law:
As the number of connected users increases, the ability to discover and identify any real property information globally directly and proportionally increases which eventually causes all real property to be no longer local but global.
In 2009, he also researched and defined the "real estate space" on the Internet as the RealWeb which is comprised of agents, applications, or humans exchanging, publishing, subscribing, or transferring real estate related information over the internet asynchronously or in real-time.
He is currently authoring two books and working on standardized semantic and XML vocabularies, RealDF and Remetal, respectively. In addition, he is planning and organizing a developers conference to be held annually in Orlando, FL.
