Connie Reece’s Summary

My communications consultancy, Every Dot Connects, was acquired in March 2009 by New Media Lab.

I advise companies seeking to integrate social media with their traditional PR, marketing and communications efforts and help them create a presence on social networks appropriate for their business objectives. I also create and teach educational workshops around social media and social networking.

As a conference speaker, I talk about how social media integrates with traditional marketing and PR; how social networks can be used internally, to open up corporate culture; and externally, to cultivate clients and increase visibility online. Presentation topics include social media, social networking, blogging and microblogging, podcasts and vlogs, virtual worlds, social bookmarking, public relations in the age of Google, and using social media for social good.

A co-founding member, I also serve on the advisory board of the Social Media Club, an international association for new and emerging media professionals. I'm passionate about using new technologies to build bridges between people, ideas and causes. When a friend was diagnosed with breast cancer in late 2007, I created the Frozen Pea Fund.

I'm active in the virtual world Second Life and maintain an office in-world. It's fun teleporting around the grid to attend business events, educational seminars and casual get-togethers, or to spend some time relaxing at my oceanside villa.
