Colleen Ryor is an experienced editor in literary publishing and corporate communications. She founded independent literary publishing house Black Lawrence Press in 2003, which became an imprint of Dzanc Books in 2008.
Colleen's clients include both international corporations and writers whose manuscripts require a professional's keen eye. Her clients have included Motorola, Chanel, American Express, McGraw-Hill, Swarovski Crystal, and The College Board, makers of the SAT exam, some versions of which Colleen has edited.
Colleen holds a B.A. in German with minor study in French from the State University of New York at Saratoga Springs, Empire State College. She holds the Zertifikat Deutsch from the Goethe Institute in Germany and is hence certified in German as a foreign language at the B1 level under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. She is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators and the National Association of Professional Women.
