After working her way up the film production ladder, Nystedt’s steadfast determination, astute business acumen and creative inspiration led her to build her first company, New City Productions, from the ground up. Since producing her first independent feature film in 1992, Nystedt produced or supervised production on numerous feature films and TV movies for Universal Pictures, Paramount, MGM, CBS, NBC, ABC, USA, Showtime and Lifetime Networks. She sold New City to a public company in 2000.
Since reconsituting New City in 2003, Nystedt has refocussed her energies to the creation of MovieSet™ to bring together film production, marketing and distribution on the web. Recognizing the fundemental shift to the internet, MovieSet™ capitalizes on the audience's desire for behind-the-scenes access. It promotes engagement and community-building around movies by advancing the marketing cycle throughout the production process.
MovieSet™ is a new and unique Internet portal that provides the movie fan with true “behind-the-scenes” access to the film-making experience. MovieSet™ has 4 key functions:
(1) Engagment – advancing the marketing campaign
(2) Efficiency - production management system
(3) E-commerce - new revenue streams
(4) E-Intelligence – gathering data
