I am a doctoral candidate in the esteemed American Culture Studies program at Bowling Green State University in the final stages of my degree. I am currently writing a dissertation on the narratives of amateur musicians and musicmaking in late 20th Century film in regards to the changing relationships between amateurism and professionalism, spaces of performance, depictions of talent, etc. I plan to defend the dissertation by January 2009 and graduate in May of 2009. I am seeking a tenure track assistant professor position in a Department of Communications, Cultural Studies, or comparable field.
