I've always been a bit of an entrepreneur - I've designed websites and done web presence consulting for small and medium sized companies for years. That started in high school, but has kind of tailed off - I provide consulting when requested, but I'm not actively marketing that setup anymore.
After my first year at Georgia Tech, I began a four semester co-op with Wandering WiFi, a small wireless company. When I joined, there were four or five other people involved, total. When I completed the co-op at the end of the Summer 2007 term, the company had defined its direction and had around fifty full-time employees. I don't claim to be a key component of the company's success - but I did get to watch and learn from some very successful businessmen and participate in and manage some very intriguing projects.
I've moved my personal entrepreneurial focus from web development and consulting to Photography - something I love to do as a hobby. I am currently paying my rent by shooting sports, portrait, and wedding photography. Something that intrigues me is the open source movement as pioneered by companies such as RedHat.
I don't know what I'll do after school. We'll see what opportunities await - I'm excited about graduating next May and look forward to it.
If you have an opportunity you think I'd be interested in, I'd love to hear from you. Feel free to contact me at any time.
