I am experienced as a technical journalist and writer in the online publishing. Industry. I am familiar with online promotion of content and tailoring content to be published online. I wrote articles and reviewed products for over 3 years at Ars Technica. Ars Technica was purchased by Condé Nast in 2008 and I am now employed as a project manager, web developer, and technical contributor helping Ars achieve World Domination.
As a software and web developer I prefer to work in Python and Django, but I have a wide range of expertise. I do work with ASP.NET (Vb, C#), PHP, Ruby, and Python on any given day. I also deal with clients directly and through my project managers to draw up scopes of work and technical/functional specifications. I am extremely skilled at developing functional and semantic HTML and CSS templates from a design. I'm also pretty darn good at developing web user interfaces using JavaScript and jQuery.
I'm also called upon for my unique and special knowledge of the Internet, Online Culture, Social trends/networking, and my insight into viral marketing as it applies to the "kids" online these days.
I have additional professional experience in wireless telecommunications in my role as an RF Engineer at T-Mobile USA. I'm well versed in GSM cellular networks and technologies within (GPRS, EDGE, AMR, etc). Our particular network ran Nortel equipment, so I'm most familiar with that set of challenges.
