Clemens Utschig - Utschig’s Summary
An eight-year Oracle veteran, Clemens works for the SOA Product Management team at Oracle Headquarters - USA, responsible for product strategy as well as developer adoption.
As a native Austrian, he started his career years back at the local consulting branch, helping customers designing and troubleshooting their J(2)EE architectures.
During his consulting years, he spent a year in Switzerland doing crisis management for a large-scale program, in Dubai helping on ADFBC issues for the government, architecting a world-wide, webservice-based application for a tax refund company, and doing workshops all around Europe.
Since his transfer three years ago into the SOA/integration engineering group, Clemens is responsible for cross product integration, helped in countless critical customer projects, supported partner implementations - and is these days the advisor for SOA to Fusion Applications development, Oracle's integrated ERP, CRM, SCM and HCM suite.
In 2006 Clemens was designated with the youngest Oracle ACE for contributions to the developer community on OTN, and graduated the same year as youngest Certified Project Manager from Stanford University.
Clemens is co-founder of the "Masons-of-SOA", an inter-company network founded by architects of Oracle Germany, Opitz Consulting, SOPEra (Eclipse Project Swordfish founders) and EDS, established in 2006. With the mission of spreading
knowledge, fostering discussion and supporting SOA programs across companies, the group is currently working on a ten article series around advanced SOA topics (such as security, governance, design and strategy) for the german Java Magazin, that gave its debut in fall 2008, and contributed advanced SOA patterns to Thomas Erl's new book called "SOA design patterns"

Designing large scale J2EE applications for customers, doing troubleshooting, tuning and code reviews. A big part of the job was technical project- and crisis- management in large, international projects.
Besides founder of the local Java community and representative in the EMEA java community at Oracle.
Projects included fortune 100 companies (in Germany, Turkey, Dubai), adapting J2EE / SOA for mission critial projects and implementing on top of Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle BPEL Process Manager, Application Server and other components.
During fulltime consulting job I was invited to join Product Management for an internship within the JDeveloper Team. While there - developed the XML Datacontrol, one of the samples for Standard Databinding (JSR-227)
