Clark Sweat is the Executive Director of International Development at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, which is the country’s second largest health-related charity. Sweat has more than 15 years experience in marketing and development at non-profit children’s medical charities and joined St. Jude in September of 2006. In this role, Sweat works internationally to raise funds, spread the St. Jude mission and improve the survival rates of children with cancer and other catastrophic illnesses worldwide. St. Jude has 20 official partner sites in 15 different countries around the world. Sweat works closely with foundations and local groups in these partner countries to develop fundraising strategies and implement sharing of best practices. This model has proven to be highly effective in helping developing countries provide modern treatment and care to children battling cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
Prior to this position, Sweat served as the senior vice president of Corporate Alliances at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. During Sweat’s leadership of Corporate Alliances, Sweat more than tripled the revenue of the department and oversaw the development and growth of St. Jude’s corporate partners and the signature Thanks and Giving® campaign. During Sweat’s leadership, the Cause Marketing Forum awarded St. Jude’s Corporate Alliances program with the 2008 Golden Halo Award, the top award in the industry.
Prior to joining St. Jude, Sweat spent 12 years at Children’s Miracle Network, the alliance of premier children's hospitals in North America. Sweat was responsible for developing more than 75 corporate partnerships and built a corporate and cause marketing program that generates more than $140 million in annual sponsorships.
Sweat has a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Utah. Sweat is currently enrolled in the Executive MBA program at the University of Memphis and will graduate in 2010.
