Seasoned consultant and admitted Geek (even have the mug) who loves human services.
Bringing people and technology together is also part of what I do.
Paying it forward is how I have always lived even before I had a name for it.
My multiple roles have converged in this position at Tri-CAP where I shift from human specialist to technologist constantly.
Helping solopreneurs and small business owners/managers link their business needs to their human and technology needs; workforce development; curriculum management, career development, and training; web design, Web 2.0 tools, desktop support for end users, technology planning and integration, networked systems (LAN), and end user training

We help people lift themselves out of poverty through asset formation in two initiatives: financial literacy education and Individual Development Accounts (save towards education, home ownership, or starting a business), while developing a relationship with the banking community. We also help them get public benefits they qualify for (fuel assistance, food stamps, health coverage, housing, temporary cash assistance), advocate with them when they run into difficulty, and further educate them on how to move off public benefits and into the mainstream.
I also coordinate our free tax preparation program (IRS VITA Site) for low-income residents: recruit, train, and supervise IRS-certified tax volunteers; develop collaborations with city government and agencies to better serve low-income taxpayers; conduct outreach and publicity (write press releases, appear on TV promos); and help taxpayers understand their tax situation and link them to the benefits and asset formation programs.
