My formal training is in the law, but my loves are wine and mentoring youth. Utilizing my legal background, over the last three (3) years, I have been able to create or assist in the creation of ventures that impact what I love. First, Domaine Detroit Wine Festival (Domaine Detroit) was created to pursue my goal of establishing an annual wine festival in Detroit, Michigan.
Second, Domaine Detroit has morphed and evolved into Verondee/Domaine Detroit Productions (Verondee/Domaine Detroit), which is a Joint Venture with the Verondee Consulting Company, an event planning enterprise. Verondee/Domaine Detroit organizes wine and spirit tasting events in the Metro Detroit market. We also organize winery and distillery tours for groups and individuals.
Third, my wife Marie envisioned the Modeling Success Youth Facility (Modeling Success). This non- profit venture is still in the developmental stage. I was appointed to the Board of Directors of her 501 c 3 organization.
Fourth, to prepare myself for the rigors of managing a non-profit, I accepted a Director position on the Kabaz Cultural Center's (Kabaz) Board of Directors. Since my appointment, I was elected Vice-Chairperson. Both Modeling Success and Kabaz offer me the opportunity to impact the lives of young people.
Lastly, my goals can be found in the following quote:
Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference
between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage.
Niccolo Machiavelli
I specialize in passing on knowledge to others via formal and informal tasting events. To me, wine and spirit education involves discovering what each individual likes or loves about that beverage. Wine/Spirit Education should not be limited to discussions on terroir and the right stemware for the right wine/spirit. While providing knowledge, I am able to expose brands that have not been shown to the demographic that I represent. I want my patrons to drink what they like.
