As an unpaid volunteer, I coordinated all aspects of the Flight Across America, a national aviation event honoring the first anniversary of the September 11, 2001 tragedy. I organized a team of a dozen volunteers, delegating roles, and coordinating events in 20 states. Created the project website, http://www.flightacrossamerica.com, and used Microsoft SQL Server to store pilot applications. All aspects of the project were Internet-based. From 8/11 through 9/11/2002, nearly 3,000 pilots participated in the project, along with representatives from each state. I piloted the lead aircraft to 20 states, meeting with the media (including appearing on CNN Sunday Morning), schoolchildren and elected officials to promote general aviation. Also coordinated logistics and security between 53 aircraft and federal and local agencies, including the FAA, TSA, NYPD, and the NJ State Police.

Sole author of "Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory Programming" published by Microsoft Press (ISBN 0-7356-1037-1). All aspects of Active Directory and ADSI are covered in 450 pages with over 30 complete sample applications. Extensively researched and presented a history and implementation of network directories and helped the reader understand client-server interaction and LDAP-based programming using ADSI from a variety of languages including C++, Visual Basic, VBScript and ASP. Noteworthy for this type of technical publication is the amount of code samples and writing style that was praised as a “fresh, friendly approach to explaining concepts, ideas, and code samples” in the foreword written by Microsoft Program Manager Andy Harjanto.
