Chuck's passion for helping people develop greater clarity, purpose, effectiveness, and balance in their personal and professional lives shines through in his coaching, training and speaking. He is a strategic thinker, dynamic communicator and gifted leadership coach. His broad leadership experience includes work in outdoor adventure, international relief and development, serving on staff at his local church, teaching at the university level and coaching leaders around the world through Epic Rivers, a leadership coaching consultancy he started in 2006.
Over the last 3 years Chuck has coached more than 70 clients from 7 different countries and is certified by the International Coach Federation and as a Valwood Leadership Coach. He has a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership and completed extensive research on "Global Leadership Coaching: Exploring a Coach Approach to Leadership Development and Member Care in the Developing World". He has also been certified as a Wilderness First Responder, Search and Rescue Team Member and Department of Juvenile Justice Crisis Interventionist.
Always looking for the next adventure, Chuck counts it a privilege to have traveled to 16 countries, sky dived out of a plane, scuba dived in the Mediterranean and South China Sea, hang glided 3,000 feet above the North Carolina Outer Banks, trekked in Indonesia and Nepal, spent a summer backpacking the Appalachian Mountains, sailed the Chesapeake Bay and lived in Cambodia.
Chuck married his beautiful wife Meghann in 1999 at an outdoor wedding in the Blue Ridge Mountains. His other passions include hiking, riding his ATV, reading about leadership and personal development and spending time with a few close friends near their home base in Blowing Rock, North Carolina.
