Director of Information Technology

Government Agency; 51-200 employees; Staffing and Recruiting industry

June 2001June 2013 (12 years 1 month) Reston, Virginia

I was at Altos since its foundation on 16th Street in Washington DC. Since then, I have been leading technology strategy, infrastructure design, and systems administration for the corporate headquarters and satellite offices as the business grew, relocated twice, and was acquired.

Over the years, I have developed a network infrastructure on diverse platforms --- both Linux (BIND9, Postfix, MailScanner, Samba, Apache, DHCP, OpenLDAP), and Microsoft technologies (Windows Server Active Directory, Terminal Server, Exchange, MS-SQL). I've administered a telecom-heavy environment (VPN, Ethernet, T1/PRI, VoIP telephony), and designed and documented the Altos technology-based recruiting process.

I also developed a wide variety of web applications (Internal and external applications in Python, PHP, and Java), including SQL database development (MySQL, PostgreSQL).

As a graphic artist I have designed and produced Altos's printed marketing collateral (color, layout, illustration, writing). I designed Altos Group logo, web site, and many other aspects of the corporate identity. On an ongoing basis, I also developed graphics for Altos as needed for proposals, web, and marketing. I also maintained the several web sites for Altos' parent company, Sentrillion.
