Architected and built much of Revcube’s first generation optimization system (Employee #4). Designed and coded using open source technologies including: Java, JSP, Apache, Tomcat, XML, MySQL, CVS, Eclipse, encryption (Blowfish, SHA-1), AJAX, XHTML, PHP and DB connection pooling. Designed/coded Web-based reporting system, allowing reports to be saved, scheduled, exported, viewed on a cell phone (WAP, XHTML Mobile), uploaded to an iPod, and read as a feed.

Worked on re-architecting and rebuilding LinkShare’s Web-based software. Work included a new software architecture, an iterative migration from a two-tier PHP to a three-tier Java-based J2EE system using Oracle, Web services and Struts. Also built an encrypted image based challenge/response system in Java, a Web services client in both JSP and Flash, and initiated a Java language tokenization project.

Designed and built Hungryminds.com (online-education portal) back-end architecture and publishing system (listed as co-inventor on three related patent applications.) Designed and coded Hungry Minds CMS, a Web-based application allowing 35+ employees to create, interlink, and preview site content. Built XML/XSL based template system to publish 80,000+ Web pages/day. Worked with Google in developing their 3rd party search XML specification and believe that I was the first 3rd party developer to utilize it. Hungry Minds is now owned by Wiley Publishing [JWA].

Architected and programmed from scratch (employee #4) the Web front end of a software product allowing Web-based control of building control systems (eg. thermostats, lighting, electric meters in skyscrapers, college campuses, and retail chains). Designed and built ActiveX controls, all ASP pages, HTML, graphics and contributed significantly to the SQL Server DB design. Built an interactive 3D library for Web-based 3D visualization of building data and programmed a 3D environment for visualizing real-time data feeds. Silicon Energy was bought by Itron [ITRI].
