Web Communicator & Video Reporter

After his university studies in History of Art, Christian Aubry worked in Marketing Research and Travel & Tourism before becoming a professional journalist in France in the mid-80s. In 1989, he moved to Montreal and pursued his career in the Tourism business, designing, planning and marketing tours in Canada.
Fascinated by the Internet he "dived" into this medium in 1997. He was Managing Editor at the IT daily news website Multimedium and, in 1999, launched an online travel agency. The startup eventually merged with the Vancouver-based inbound tour operator SNV International, where he became Internet Content Manager. SNV went bankrupt after the 9/11 attack had ruined the high season (sigh!).
Aubry turned to consultancy, managing tour & travel operator SOHO's computer systems, writing Web content for Via Rail, and advising the Web team at CRIM. In August 2002, he produced the new website of the RISQ (Quebec Scientific Information Network) and managed it as a consultant until his hiring as Webmaster in Sept. 2003. His responsibilities soon grew to include corporate communications, project management related to Web and Open Source computing, RISQ's videoconferencing service management, and the organization of RISQ's annual conference.
Christian turned to consultancy again in February 2006, with RISQ as his first customer. He launched his own digital communication trademark, Economie Logique, organized two major technology conferences and defined new cutting-edge standards in independant digital video journalism. In November 2006, he launched YULBUZZ.TV, a leading French-Canadian videoblog, with his friend and fellow business partner Philippe Martin.
In July 2007 he was joined by Laurent Maisonnave and they become associates at Economie Logique Communications (ELC) inc. up to October 2008, when they decided to keep working in partnership but each one from his own business.
End-to-end Web video production (story building, image and sound production, digital post-production, Web integration, broadcasting and viral promotion). Free-lance journalism and corporate communication about technology and other cutting-edge issues. Writing, editing and translating. Webmastering and printed document production. Seminar and other event organization. And much more!
