Diving into social media back in 2003 or 2004 has led to a great career. First it allowed me to expand what I was doing at Bacon's Information (now Cision) and then in my role as a New Media Specialist at MWW Group.
Parallel to that has been my evolution as an online writer in my own right, on my Movie Marketing Madness and other blogs as well as with the various freelance opportunities that have come my way.
Currently I am Director of Marketing at Spout.com, where I'm working to bring greater awareness to the movie-centered conversations happening there.

September 1998 — April 2006 (7 years 8 months)
I've was part of what is now the Digital Media team at Bacon's for about six years now. My responsibilities included researching web sites for inclusion in our database and crafting keyword searches for our clients.
Toward the end, my job also included becoming the in-house resource for information on blogs, RSS and podcasting. In the last year I wrote two white papers on those subjects for Bacon's that have been met with some success.
(Sole Proprietorship; 11-50 employees; Motion Pictures and Film industry)
February 2004 — February 2006 (2 years 1 month)
Since early 2004 I have been writing for FilmThreat.com. My first column was titled "Movies on the Brain", where I wrote about what random thoughts and distractions were coming to mind while watching what often turned out to be a terrible movie.
After about three months of that I ended that column and began the Movie Marketing Madness one. This has been ongoing since May, 2004. In it I review the campaign for a new movie and comment on what works for me and what doesn't. My primary focus has been on blockbuster-type releases (they provide easy targets) but I have on occasion shown the spotlight on a smaller release that I've been looking forward to.
