I'm a lifetime computer technology generalist that specializes in Internet technology. Starting when I was in elementary school I began creating small websites (remember Geocities?), in middle school and high school I converted entire publication teams from traditional photographic layout methods to digital workflows and networks. In college I found my interest in web applications (especially social ones) at the beginning of the "Web 2.0" craze.
Despite my engineering background, my passion lies in designing products and services that make lives easier or more fulfilling while also generating revenue.

November 2005 — Present (3 years)
As an intern from Nov 2005 - Sept 2006, I mucked around in REST API interfaces, content spidering, Perl log analysis, and various other random tasks. Most notably, I rewrote the Lucene search backend that is still in use today. Also, I graphic designed and coded a still highly-successful Flash-based traffic acquisition campaign for the Demand product.
After Sept 2006, I took a year off from school and the Flash campaign became my full time responsibility in both technical and product management perspectives. As MySpace often came up with new ways to break the widget code, I continued to dream up new solutions with various ActionScript, CSS, and HTML hackery.
During this time period, I also spearheaded an initial SEO campaign, integrating sitemaps, content, and URL optimization.
As of August 2007, I stepped down to a 60% FTE to make progress on the last half of my bachelor's education at UCSD while also designing and developing social web applications
