I am a non traditional laterally thinking through the line creative with over 10 years experience in the creative industries.
My creative input has helped guide the story of brands through lateral creativity, perceptive research and strategic planning. I am a creative who loves planning and thrives by working in an open source democratic creative process. A shared and evolved insight is the magic 'power up' which is the fuel to good creativity resulting in great brand communications.
My background is eclectic and it started in fine art. I studied painting and sculpture at Kingston University in the early 90's. I exhibited in group shows as I followed my existential creative utopian dream while keeping myself in pocket by assisting the late pop artist Eduardo Paolozzi. As the artists way of life lost its sheen, along with my beard, I started a career as an art director designing film sets. Having input alongside the scriptwriters, directors, and cinematographers set new collaborative and creative standards for me.
The graphically rich digital world of design and advertising switched from the background to the foreground in my creative career through natural evolution. In 2003 I co-founded Slipmode which was a collective front as a creative team, as individual creatives, and as a graphics communications studio. I enjoyed working on many varied projects and briefs, with experience on a more traditional level as well as being commissioned to think more leftfield on ambient and experiential aspects. From films to digital screens to guerilla to international motor shows to music events to viral... people are finding and making their place in a brand.
I believe my diverse creative background makes me a better creative in an exciting time for brand communications.
