Dan Harris’s Summary

For more than fifteen years, I have been representing companies doing business in emerging market countries. I have found that the most important thing in conducting legal work in an emerging market country is to take nothing for granted and to work with the right people. It has taken me many years to build up my worldwide network, and it takes constant communication and travel to maintain it. My work has been as varied as securing the release of two improperly held helicopters in Papua New Guinea, setting up a legal framework to move slag from Canada to a port in Poland and then to Poland's interior, and seizing fish product in China to collect a long overdue debt by a Russian company. For other examples of my work, please check out the "representative work" page on my firm's website at www.harrismoure.com.

Named one of three Washington State Amazing Lawyers in International Law; AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory (its highest rating); rated 10.0 by AVVO.com, its highest rating.

I am a frequent writer and public speaker on doing business in China and I spend around two weeks out of every two months in China. I am also the lead writer of the award winning China Law Blog (www.chinalawblog.com) and I was on the Board of Editors of the China Trade Law Report (at law.com). I love being interviewed by the media and in just the last year or so, I have been in Forbes Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, Investors Business Daily, The National Law Journal, The Washington Post, The ABA Journal, The Economist, Newsweek, Inside Counsel, and the Christian Science Monitor, among others.
