Working for your father is not easy. I was fired and re-hired every single day for the time I spent there. I met opposition on all my ideas. We fundamentally had huge differences in the way we handled problems. Despite these obstacles, I had learned a lot about the systems integration business, how computers were most effective in an office, and how to run a small business. It was an experience that all my years in college never taught me.
English / Creative Writing 1991 — 1992
Now in the last leg of my educationally journey, I begin to realize that this whole endeavor is to appease my immigrant parents who did not go to college but we not uneducated. My creative writing continued at NYU and in 1992, I had enough. I had always wanted to simply follow in my dad's footsteps, and to own my own business as he had, and as all of his clients, with whom I spent most of my summers with, learning about businesses. To quote my hero Dean Kamen, "I am undegreed but not stupid."
English/Creative Writing 1989 — 1991
After getting kicked out of Hofstra, which was a blessing in disguise, Southampton College was the only school who cared to give me a second chance. I changed my studies to Creative Writing and made friends that I still know today.
Aerospace Engineering 1986 — 1989
At the time, I was heavily involved with personal computers but I had more computing power in my parent's basement than the school had to their disposal. I found programming in BASIC and playing around with WordStar and an accounting program far more interesting that trying to calculate compounded interest with FORTRAN. In time, I grew more and more bored and was eventually expelled for lack of studying in 1989.
Combining brilliant software solutions and witty humor that enables small businesses to grow their businesses. Plus, I like to fly, make movies, and philosophize on science and nature.
