I love writing. It's what I do best.
The idea that I can someday write and actually get paid for it is extremely fascinating to me. Call it a goal, a dream, or whatever you like; I have to put bread on the table somehow.
So for the past couple of years, I've been trying to make the best out of my ability to write. I maintain a blog via WordPress.com, I help with UTM's the Pacer by writing news stories, features, and editorials, in addition to having editorial authority over the Technophile section of that paper.
The point of all this isn't to just learn about my craft and improve my abilities in the journalism market. I'm also building up to something more in this trade. If that means ending up working for a newspaper, magazine, or online publication, then that's fine by me. As long as I can keep writing, I'll be happy...

During my time at the University of Tennessee at Martin, I maintained a strong B average and developed my skills as a writer.
Aside from literature courses, I also studied art, political science, philosophy, mathematics, and rhetoric. I also took part in one of the first courses on Leadership at the University of Tennessee at Martin, and assisted Professor Shawn Nanney in creating a Leadership minor.
In addition to my upper division Communications courses, I also minored in Spanish, taking courses in advanced conversation, composition, and culture to develop fluency with a second language.
