Modular Mining Systems (www.mmsi.com) was the first company to track mining equipment with computers and wireless networks and started in 1979. They are still the world leader in this area despite recent competition from companies such as Caterpillar.
I provided technical support, installation and customization of all their products for clients. This required an in-depth knowledge of Solaris, Linux and Windows servers. I programmed in their proprietary FORMS language, MS SQL, UNIX shell scripting, Ruby, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Knowledge of wireless networks, network theory, database design and software engineering principles were also commonly used in day-to-day situations. -
