Tucson, Arizona Area
I am a web programmer and systems administrator who enjoys being on the cutting edge of technology and learning new technologies. I prefer to use pre-existing tools instead of re-inventing the wheel. Linux is my preferred platform, but I have had plenty of experience in the Windows world as well.
PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Ruby on Rails, Perl, Linux and Windows server administration, supporting servers (Apache, IIS, MySQL, MS-SQL, etc...)

Modular Mining Systems (www.mmsi.com) was the first company to track mining equipment with computers and wireless networks and started in 1979. They are still the world leader in this area despite recent competition from companies such as Caterpillar.
I provided technical support, installation and customization of all their products for clients. This required an in-depth knowledge of Solaris, Linux and Windows servers. I programmed in their proprietary FORMS language, MS SQL, UNIX shell scripting, Ruby, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Knowledge of wireless networks, network theory, database design and software engineering principles were also commonly used in day-to-day situations.

I consulted with Pultorak & Associates to help them get certification from Microsoft's SMSGR group for building internal training courses at Microsoft. The course was built in HTML with CSS and JavaScript elements and the project was started and completed within a week's time.

I worked for Adjoined for two weeks making customizations to an open-source project and task management web tool (dotProject) in PHP. I made changes to the permissions library to allow for an additional layer of access controls and added a few other custom pages and forms. This was a large project as it changed the core permissions library and any add-on modules had to be changed accordingly.
