Charles Law is a B.Sc. graduate of the Interaction Design program at Simon Fraser University, in Vancouver, Canada.
During his academic career he had the chance to participate in a year long italiaDesign research program led by a leading academic expert on Italian Studies and Design. Two months of the program involved studying abroad in Italy for a rich cultural, historical, and design experience.
He has also participated in four and six month internships with Research in Motion and Siemens Corporate Research, respectively as an User Experience Designer and Interaction Designer.
Charles is currently working at AKQA in San Francisco as an Associate Interaction Designer.
Charles believes that Interaction Design is a process involving deep understandings of social and cultural contexts in order to stitch together complex disconnections and ultimately cumulating in delightful outcomes.

Currently working as an Associate Interaction Designer at internationally renowned creative agency, AKQA. I am responsible for crafting and defining the behavior and logic of user experiences across multiple product platforms and services. My goal to always create elegant and purposeful solutions that make sense for the user, as well as strategically align with the goals of the project.

Completed a six month internship in a cross-functional research environment as an Interaction Designer working on a wide range of different projects ranging in Automation and Control, Imaging and Visualization, and Real-Time Vision and Modeling. Primary projects involved ideating and designing concepts, storyboards, and functional prototypes for High Performance Buildings and Medical Solutions.

Worked as an user experience design associate to enhance the use of Research in Motion’s Blackberry smartphones along with related software applications. Core responsibilities included conducting detailed heuristic evaluations, designing concepts, and presenting analysis to both managers and clients.

Interaction Design at Simon Fraser Univeristy is a future-focused program that teaches human interactions and relationships to technology, including usability testing and ethnography studies. Other areas of focus include innovative design processes, social and cultural study, graphic design and communication. Projects are heavily based on design process, problem solving, and team management.
