The title of this book, Pipeliners Are Human, sounds unusual. The book introduces human factors principles to people in the pipeline industry. Human Factors takes information about us-our abilities, our limitations, our behaviors-and applies this information to the design of tools, machines, computer systems, tasks, jobs, and the work environment. The book is designed to present useful information with a minimum of text, a maximum amount of illustrations, and a mixture of photographs, cartoons, humor and stories. A person should be able to read the book in a couple of hours, and then apply some of the lessons immediately.

Humans make mistakes and we make them regularly. Organizations should do something to detect and to prevent human errors and accidents. The purpose of this eBook is to introduce The Dirty Dozen causes of errors and accidents. This book will provoke thoughts and discussions about how they apply in your work and life. I believe The Dirty Dozen eBook provides an easy way for people to understand the causes of human error and to develop ways to address those causes.
