Has your resume graduated from college?
You've moved on, assumed positions of increasing responsibility, taken risks, and explored new roles.
Has your resume kept up? Or is it a laundry list? Can you convey what you have to offer a new employer in an “eyeball” review?
If yes, can you say the same for your LinkedIn profile? Would it surprise you to learn that—as early as 2006--an estimated 77% of recruiters* said they check out candidates online, and 35% had rescinded an offer based on what they found?
In today’s market, expect to be found—ready or not. With fewer job listings and stiff competition, you need a concise resume and strong online presence to convey your skills and experience—as well as how you fit the position you want for your next move. I call this “putting your best fit forward.”
I can help you manage your online reputation and “be found.”
I help individuals, small groups, and businesses create personal marketing documents--resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles.
I also write short pieces on job search strategy and serve as a consultant on how to use social media—from Facebook and LinkedIn to DIGG and Twitter—with intention in the job search. I’ve spoken on this topic to students and staff at the University of Pennsylvania, current job seekers in Manhattan, and I can do it for you, too.
I bring to my work a Master’s degree in counseling, a decade of experience in connecting job seekers and employers (eight of which were spent at Ivy League schools), and a “recruiter’s perspective.” After spending years in non-profit work environments, start-up cultures, and working with engineers, I’m resourceful and tech-savvy. Members of the job seekers group I facilitate in Manhattan and previous clients say I combine my knowledge with warmth and optimism.
