  • NORTH AMERICAN SALES & MARKETING MANAGER - Industrial Segment

    Weyerhaeuser

(Public Company; 10,001 or more employees; WY; Paper & Forest Products industry)

    October 2002January 2005 (2 years 4 months)

Charged with leading sales & marketing strategies for this $450MM business unit reporting directly the Business Manager - Building Materials. Under my leadership, sales grew 9.5% from previous year and the business returned to higher profitability - margin expanded $49MM (an 11% increase).

Also asked to assume brand management of a new, highly specialized product. Shifted our product launch strategy toward more appropriate sales/distribution channels and led cross-functionality training of a 250+ sales force that had previously not sold this type of product:

    • Leveraged the introduction of our new product into non-customers to cross-sell/bundle other products.
    • Led strategic sales to National Accounts such as The Home Depot, Lowes, Masco Corporation and similar Fortune 500 Companies.
