After spending 9 years within the Sales & Marketing area in the IT industry in Latin America, Cesar decided to start the MBA programme at Oxford University. From the first moment after arriving in Oxford, Cesar refocused his career to Strategic Planning and Futures Thinking (Scenarios). He worked on a Strategic Consulting Project on Scenarios for a private reinsurance company, under the James Martin Institute for Science and Civilization supervision, during July and August 2008.
He currently advises a European Agency on the implementation of Scenarios and is involved in Scenario projects with Longevity and Pension risks, Global Sustainable Development and Global Financial Development and Regulation.
Scenarios for improving the understanding of the future, contesting organisations´ strategy and dealing with complex problems. Project management, business development, client management, distribution channels, and multi-country operations.
(Research industry)
October 2008 — Present (1 year 3 months)
Success in the future depends not on the accuracy of our studies of the future but on the future success of decisions taken today.
Currently focused on two projects:
-Beyond the Financial Crisis
Society as a whole has not made sense of what has happened and yet is calling global leaders for action. What type of responses will emerge within the current messy reality? Will we fix our way back into a more regulated form of capitalism? Are we willing to address complex issues such as climate change, wealth distribution, food and water, at the expense of political instability and social unrest due to short term disruptions?
-Emerging risks and Scenarios
What contribution can the scenarios practice make to emerging risk management?
