Charles Roop is a University of Florida student with nearly seven years in the journalism field - nearly three of that with photo. He has experience with sports, breaking news, weather and events, but wants to focus more of his photography on extreme weather and nature.
Roop is also a geography student with a focus of atmospheric sciences and climatology. His interest in weather since the age of nine has led him some experience and education including, but not limited to, forecasting, Skywarn storm spotting and chasing storms to assist in academic research at UF. He is also a Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS) observer.
The goal is to do graduate studies in atmospheric sciences after receiving a Bachelors of Science in Geography with a Certificate in Climatology and Meteorology.
Adobe Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, Aperture 2, iWork, Soundslides, Final Cut Express, iMovie, Office. Light knowledge of Flash, XHTML & CSS. Familiar w/ Canon EOS and Nikon camera systems.
Also have experience with Geographical Information Systems using ArcGIS.
