I am a freelance writer and editor. I am best known in three main genres which are disparate and have little crossover: erotica, science fiction/fantasy, and baseball.
1) I am, apparently, one of the foremost erotica writers and publishers of my generation, which, I must admit, is pretty darn cool. I started my erotica writing career in 1992 when I self-published a chapbook of erotic science fiction stories--simultaneously launching my careers as an erotica writer, science fiction writer, and publisher. Circlet Press, the company founded with that book, is still a going concern, having published over 40 books of erotic science fiction, including authors like Francesca Lia Block, Delia Sherman, Lawrence Schimel, and many others. My own fiction has appeared everywhere, including Ms. Magazine, Penthouse, and Asimov's, Nerve, Best American Erotica, and on and on. Collections of my short stories have appeared from HarperCollins and Running Press. I've also edited erotica anthologies for not only Circlet but Masquerade Books, Blue Moon Books, Thunder's Mouth Press, and others.
2) I am a writer and editor on the subject of baseball and baseball history. My wide-ranging interests have led me so far to mostly publishing projects dealing with the Yankees and Red Sox, which seems only natural as I grew up in New York and now live in Boston. I've co-edited several books, written a few (The 50 Greatest Yankee Games, from Wiley, being the best-known), and I am also a Senior Writer for Gotham Baseball magazine. I am the editor of, and write for, the annual Maple Street Press publication BOMBERS BROADSIDE, which is an annual preseason look at the New York Yankees.
I am ALSO an instructor and employee of the Jae H. Kim Tae Kwon Do institute where I received my black belt in 1996, and I am a certified technician in Okazaki Restorative Therapy, a form of Asian Bodywork rooted in traditional Chinese medicine.

I am a certified technician in Okazaki Restorative Therapy, a form of Asian Bodywork that involves applying pressure of the elbow along the energetic channels of the body (commonly referred to as 'acupuncture meridians') to move the Chi in the body. In Western terms this increases blood flow, warms and stretches the muscles, breaks up adhesions, releases tension, relieves pain, and stimulates healing. Many people report feeling as if they have just done an hour of yoga when getting off my table.

I received my black belt in April 1996 and began working at the Cambridge location one day a week. In 1998 I was hired part-time at the Boston location, where I taught a children's class 3 times a week for several years, along with private lessons, adult class, forms class, and also worked as an administrative assistant doing data entry, marketing calls, customer service calls, and other back office functions. In 1999 I transferred to the Cambridge school where I worked part time until 2002, when I took time off. I returned in 2005 and work one day a week again, as well as filling in for instructors on vacation.
