Brumelle is a founder and lead developer at Rilli (http://rilli.com), an exciting web application that will change people's relationship with their city, their friends, and the way they see them both. In one sentence - "You, your friends and good times - on a map".
Brumelle also writes about the intersection of music and technology at his blog, MixedContent (http://mixedcontent.com) and has spots available for select freelance consulting and web development work.
Previously as a Partner and Product Manager at Bryght (http://bryght.com), a Vancouver, BC startup, Brumelle focused on several music-related web projects. He was (and continues to be!) heavily involved in the Drupal Open Source project, contributing several modules back to the community.
Before joining Bryght in 2005, Brumelle led a double life: programmer by day, musician by night. As a professional guitarist for over 10 years, he managed and played guitar with his band Greenroom, a 7-piece jazz/funk ensemble. Brumelle has recorded numerous CD's and has toured extensively across North America in barely road-worthy vehicles. At the same time, he also a developed a courseware application at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and built content publishing tools tools for researchers at Simon Fraser University.
As a musician and a technologist, Colin also is a passionate speaker at various music and technology conferences. Recent speaking engagements include talks and panels at SF Music Tech, EuroOSCON, SXSW, Podcast Hotel, and Northern Voice.
As a "Jack of all trades" type, Brumelle is equally at home consulting on community strategy, coding genetic algorithms in Ruby, designing a intuitive interface for a web application, or discussing the sociological implications of Jimmy Hendrix's performance of the Star Spangled Banner.
Currently living in San Francisco with his wife, Brumelle enjoys rock climbing, biking, and double espressos.
