Charles Beckham is responsible for architecting, building and operating the global learning and documentation technology infrastructure upon which Sun Learning Services and Sun's strategic initiatives rely. As the Chief Technology Officer for Sun Learning Services, Beckham leads the development of all the online offerings the eLearning products group and oversees the 60 online stores which sell Sun's learning services worldwide. His team created learning.sun.com portal to provide web-based courseware for Sun's employees and the Sun Learning eXchange (SLX) which hosts videos and podcasts for both restricted and public viewing.
Beckham is recognized as one of most accomplished and innovative software designers of scalable, secure, and reliable systems for the Internet. He has served as the Chief Architect of Sun's Developers Tools and previously was the Principal Consultant at NetDynamics until its 1998 acquisition by Sun. Beckham's background includes more than twenty years of experience delivering mission-critical networked systems. At the time of the Sun/Netscape Alliance, he served as engineering manager for the infrastructure and applications divisions.
