As Program Director for Technology at Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, I am responsible for supporting the increased use of technology in support of women pursuing excellence. My work includes creating events to encourage girls in STEM, including the Xavier Video Game Tournament and Girls Have IT Day! I am project manager for the network uplift and implementing the new technology plan.
In my last job, I was the Program Director for the Game and Simulation Programming degree at DeVry University and the Program Director for the Web Graphic Design degree. I began my career with DeVry in 1991 as an Associate Professor in Computer Information Systems. In 2005 I was promoted to Online Program Dean for Game and Simulation Programming (GSP). In 2006 I was again promoted to Curriculum Manager for DeVry University, and in 2007 to Associate Program Director, GSP. My work included developing curriculum and lab models for distance delivery, assessment, and technology plans.
I have written C, C++, Java and Visual Basic textbook ancillaries, reviews, and papers on learning models and eLearning tools. I enjoy developing technology plans and working to bridge the gap from traditional teaching methods to engaging today’s digital learner.
When I am not working, I enjoy coaching a kids running team, running marathons, freelance writing, playing games and spending time with family.
