Catherine McCullough lobbies and provides communications strategy for clients with matters before Congress and federal agencies. Most of her work deals with issues within the jurisdiction of the Commerce, Judiciary, and Appropriations Committees.
She works with technology and consumer-driven clients such as the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the Center for Constitutional Litigation, P.C., and several wireless and broadcast companies.
Ms. McCullough served as a Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. The Committee governs the communications, technology, transportation, tourism, and consumer product industries, among others. The Subcommittees she served oversaw the Federal Trade Commission, National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, and the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Ms. McCullough’s background in data privacy issues led her to a role as a negotiator on the US SAFE WEB Act, which became law in 2006, and the Committee's identity theft prevention bill. During her time with the Committee Ms. McCullough worked on such high-profile issues as post-Katrina oil and gas pricing, steroid use by U.S. Olympic and professional athletes, the "Do Not Call" list, and the Jack Abramoff investigation.
Ms. McCullough has considerable experience with civil justice, product liability and manufacturing standards issues. Prior to her Committee service, she worked as an Associate Director at the American Association for Justice, named by Fortune magazine as one of America’s most powerful lobby groups. Before that she worked for The Freedom Forum’s First Amendment Ombudsman and consulted for organizations such as the United Way of America and the 3M Corporation/Health Information Systems.

Good business deserves to be rewarded. Meadowbrook principal Catherine McCullough is dedicated to using her inside knowledge of Congress to help companies that move America forward by encouraging innovative technology and placing better products in the stream of commerce. For instance, when a company dedicated to helping radio stations stream their broadcasts online was threatened by an agency's copyright decision, Ms. McCullough worked to spread the client's message to the right people on the Hill, lobby for a bill that would fix the problem, and convince the Senate to hold a hearing on the issue. Congress can be a complicated place. Moving legislation forward or stopping a bad bill can make or break a business. If you want to be represented by someone with an unusually deep knowledge of the political process, turn to Catherine McCullough and Meadowbrook Strategic Government Relations.
