Director of The District
Columbia, Missouri Area
When I originally chose communication as a major, I thought it would allow me to explore a wide variety of career paths while still doing the one thing I really loved. Glancing over my resume, I can see that’s certainly been the case. From teaching to politics to downtown development, the one constant has been my work in communications, public relations and marketing.
I’m experienced at developing and implementing long-range plans including marketing programs and campaign plans. I’m accomplished at media relations and promotions, organizing press conferences, writing speeches and talking points, and reporter follow-up. I can organize most types of special events and can also handle all those unforeseen problems without panicking (at least not too much). I have some practical experience in website development (mainly because I rarely have the budget to hire a pro) and I designed two modest websites for my current organization.
