I have owned NIXdesign, a full service design + interactive marketing firm, for over 18 years. NIXdesign was an early integrated marketing communications pioneer in the Triangle region – we adopted web/interactive services early in the game and are consistently ranked as one of the Triangle’s Top 25 Interactive Media firms. We have worked with hundreds of start-ups and companies in a wide range of industries including: Quintiles, NetIQ, SAS/Dataflux, The Body Shop, Oenophilia, NC Medical Board, Nomaco, The Freelon Group architects, Hatteras Networks, Biologics and Burt's Bees and Perfumes Isabell NYC.
With a changing economy, I revised the firm's business model and accepted a position at French West Vaughan, one of the nation’s largest independent public relations firms, as the Director of Interactive Media. There I worked with many Fortune 500 companies such as Astroturf, Wrangler, Fossil, Coke, and CIAA and branded and developed the agency’s first interactive services center, the e•MERGING Media Lab. I was then promoted to SVP of Marketing Services and ran both the interactive and creative divisions. Following the agency's merger with another company, I returned full-time to NIXdesign where I work with agencies and companies to provide a full range of services including branding, web/interactive design, marketing strategy, management, and new business development. I often work on-site with clients as a marketing consultant and I also provide advertising/design/PR agencies with growth strategy, creative direction, management and new business opportunities.

After working with many retail and wine/gourmet companies, I designed a line of Carol Fountain Nix™ signature products. I initially developed a Fusion™ wineglass and decanter drying/display rack, which is patented and currently selling internationally. It has been reviewed by Wine Spectator and is sold by major retailers such as Target, Sur la Table, Amazon, and Bed, Bath & Beyond.
