Over 30 years experience providing public relations and marketing communications for both profit and non-profit entities. I started my career with a small life insurance company in Fargo, then as PR / media relations field rep, and then editor for a national insurance industry PR firm in NYC. I moved to Minnesota to work with an consumer information organization and later started my own advertising and pr agency, which I ran for eight years. I then joined a business unit of a Fortune 200 company, where I provided marketing and channel communications, and media and vendor relations for the last ten years.
As an employee or contractor, my goal has always been to produce strategic communications programs employing whatever media will get the desired results.
Planning, researching, writing, editing, photography, and designing for all media from speechwriting to video. Tools: Microsoft Office Suite. Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, Premiere, and Dreamweaver. Online: Wordpress, Blogger and other social media applications.

For this global manufacturer of motor control systems used in industrial automation and machinery, I was responsible for writing, designing, and producing virtually all sales and marketing materials used in the Americas. I wrote case studies on a wide range of industries and applications for B2B and B2C email newsletters. Nearly all of the content I created was ported to the web site.
Other duties:

Notable achievements:
Producing the first product catalog, and the first web site for Control Techniques-Americas (then Emerson Motion Control)
Introducing the use of broadcast email and a newsletter program that put our name, products and solutions in front of the customers of our independent distributors and system integrators.
I reported to the Director of Marketing, and worked with many people within the company, our sales channels and other Emerson companies to develop and implement branding, publicity and advertising programs.
