Carla Borsoi’s Summary

Carla's first job post-graduate school was in corporate sales for British Airways. During this time she discovered a talent for analyzing the sales trends and for researching potential prospects.

Deciding to move to San Francisco, Carla found a job more focused on the analytical side of sales with Guinness, after spending several months conducting "research" in preparation for that role. From here she transitioned to working for The Money Store and using her web-research skills to conduct competitive intelligence activities and to educate co-workers about the power of e-commerce.

After two years at The Money Store, Carla moved into a role that was more marketing focused, but no less analytical, for Third Age Media. Here, the chance to manage both marketing and primary research projects laid the groundwork for the most recent years of her experience.

At BabyCenter, Carla continued working in a hybrid marketing/research role, with greater emphasis on how a holistic view of various data streams can improve a company's strategy and marketing programs.

In 2003, Carla joined NFO WorldGroup (now TNS NFO) where she consulted with clients as to the best way research can shed light and provide insight for business issues. Her focus was on the strategic implications of research - whether in new product development or in customer experience studies.

In December 2005, Carla began a new job at Ask Jeeves, now IAC Search & Media, working to marry self-reported data with actual user behavior to create insights useful in marketing and product development. Over the past 2 years, Carla has provided insights and analysis incorporated into marketing and product development planning, established new business KPIs, and created new programs internally to provide needed insights to various stakeholders.
